Blindsided[1] is the third episode from Season 8 of Modern Family, it aired on October 5, 2016.

Plot Summary

The Dunphys and Pritchett's are going head-to-head when Luke decides his best chance at getting into college is running for senior class president against Manny. The outcome of this election is even more important to Jay, Gloria and Claire, who prove to be dubious campaign managers. Now that Haley has started her own promotion business, Phil insists on introducing her to marketing guru Merv Schechter, who hasn’t seen a stress ball he can’t slap a logo on yet. Meanwhile, Cam finds out his star football player is moving away and makes a rash decision that is going to make home life a little cramped for Mitch and Cam.

Episode Description

Luke and Manny both want to become class president. Claire helps her son while Gloria helps her with reluctant help from Jay. Both boys arrive dressed like each other and give a speech, but Luke wins.

Phil introduces Haley to Merv Schechter after she told him that she wanted to become her own boss. Haley's methods clash with Merv and she manages to help Phil sell a cursed house. Phil later visits Schechter and tells him that Luke has popularity issues but Schechter's tentative backfire.

Cameron's favorite player Dwight stays with him during the football season much to Mitch and Lilly's chagrin. Cameron decides to lie and tells Dwight to pretend to cry , ignoring that Mitch actually changed his mind and allowed him to stay.
