Season 6 for Modern Family premiered on September 24, 2014, with "The Long Honeymoon" and released its finale on May 20, 2015, with "American Skyper". Season 6 aired Wednesdays 9/8c in the United States and consisted of 24 episodes, as well as the last season to include that amount of episodes. The DVD was released on September 22, 2015.

And, Mitchell gets strangely competitive with Lily's new friend, Sydney, who is clearly a genius. She is also one year younger than Lily.

Elsewhere, Mitch and Cam are determined to switch Lily out of Mrs. Plank's class since she is known to rule with an iron fist - not to mention she scares them too.

Meanwhile, Mitch and Cam meet a popular news reporter at a school function and one of them peaks her journalistic interest.

This quickly becomes the worst idea when the family dinner gets suddenly moved to their house and they try to cover up their tracks. Mitch is tired of always being the bad cop so when Lily refuses to wear a nice dress to dinner, he forces Cameron to deal with it who as a result comes up with a very unconventional approach.

Mitchell and Cameron just got a beautiful white couch delivered but when Mitch is stuck helping out Brenda, a distressed co-worker, and allows her to stay.

It's Haley's 21st birthday and the adults take her to a bar to celebrate. Meanwhile, back at home, Alex, Luke, and Manny babysit Lily, who wants to know where babies come from.

And with Manny groggy from pain killers after his wisdom teeth procedure, Gloria seizes the moment to put a sabotage plan into effect to break Manny and his new girlfriend up.

During the celebration, Jay frets about Gloria’s cousin who has overstayed his welcome; Claire stresses out about giving Alex the perfect gift; Mitch hides news of being laid off from Cam, and Andy’s girlfriend Beth is in town stirring up a whole lot tension with Haley which finally leads to a realization that may have come too late.
