Written in the Stars[1] is the fourteenth episode from Season 9 of Modern Family, it aired on February 28, 2018.

Plot Summary

Phil thinks that Gloria is upset at Jay for dropping the ball on Valentine's Day, so he convinces Jay to spice things up with a little role playing that doesn't go off as planned. Meanwhile, Mitch and Cam may have unwittingly ruined Luke's Valentine's Day date and are forced to make things right.

Episode Description

For Valentine's day Phil and Claire convince Jay and Gloria to play roles but their evening is ruined when Gloria is mistaken for a prostitute before being released. At the same time, Phil and Claire has to watch Joe who has a crush on Claire and tries to get ride off Phil until he gives them seduction's advice.

Meanwhile, Mitchell and Cameron go to the restaurant and are forced to dine with Luke whom they accidentally spoiles Valentine's Day date by treating him like a womanizer without knowing that his girlfriend was actually behind them during the line. They apologize but Luke prefers take a cab rather than spend time with her.

And, Alex tries to make her best for Prof Finnerman only to be sad when she discovers that he prefers Haley instead of her while Manny makes a Valentine's Day Card for Gloria.
